Surrey Champions travel to Woodhall Spa for The English Champion of Champions

The three Surrey County champions travelled to Woodhall Spa to play in the England Golf Champion of Champions weekend (2nd-4th September).  The Girls' event was played on Friday, 2nd September over 36 holes on the Bracken Course.  It was won by Isabella Kent of Berkshire with a gross score of 147 (+3), four shots clear of Ciara Rushmer of Essex.  Emily Peaford finished with a total of 162 (80 & 82) in 14th position.

In the Women's event, which was also played over the Bracken Course, the title was won by Luca Thompson of Bedfordshire.  She finished with a gross total of 148 (+4) to beat Suffolk's Alice Barlow by two shots.  Unfortunately, Becky Gee had to withdraw after 13 holes due to ill health.

Belinda Pope was never far from the top of the leader board in the Senior Women's Champion of Champions.  She finished in 5th position with a gross total of 163 (79,84).  The title was won by former Curtis Cup player Emma Brown of Yorkshire with a gross total of 151 (76,75).  Lancashire's Sharon Eales was runner up, eight shots behind Emma on a total of 159, with Karen Sykes of Sussex taking third place (161).
