A gloriously sunny day welcomed 54 pairs to Royal Mid-Surrey for the annual Mothers & Daughters competition, a 27 hole foursomes medal played on the Pam Barton course. This historic event, which was first played at RMS in 1962, always attracts a host of strong pairings as well as many others who come for an enjoyable day's golf with their mother/daughter. The fairways were filled with chat and shouts of 'good shot', and, of course, 'sorry'! This year's winners of the Judy Trophy for the best 27 hole scratch prize were Ann & Alex Peters from Shifnal in Shropshire and the RMS Trophy for the best 27 hole handicap score was won by Bernadette & Sophie Newlove from Wollaton Park in Nottinghamshire. Nicola Taylor, Surrey First Team Captain, and her mother Alison, collected 2nd scratch prize over 18 holes, and Surrey Junior, Charlotte Woodham, won the Meg Kent Trophy for the best U16 performance. It was a fantastic day, enjoyed by all, and brilliantly organised by Sheila Stirling, a past SLCGA Captain. Next year's event will be held on Saturday, 20th April. Full results here
