STOVOLD TROPHY NEWS 2010

Surrey have won the Stovold Trophy
Congratulations to the Surrey Second Team

SLCGA 50+ SENIORS CHAMPIONSHIP

Tandridge Golf Club

The 50+ Championship was held on a
gloriously sunny day at Tandridge GC on 28th July
The course was in superb condition which led to
some great scoring.
Ann Gems (Malden) and Roz Adams (Addington
Court Ladies) were tied on 74, but Roz was
the overall Champion on count back.
Marion Bridgen (Walton Heath)
won the Handicap Trophy with an excellent score
of nett 68 (gross 75). Sue Stradling (Worplesdon)
won the 60+ Scratch and Handicap Trophies with
a gross 80 nett 72.
Thank you to Tandridge for allowing us to hold
the event the hospitality and catering was as
always memorable.

DRUCE TROPHY 2010

Kingswood Golf Club

The Druce Trophy was held at Kingswood GC
on 6th July. The location, weather and course
were superb. The organisation and support from
the members and staff at Kingswood was
outstanding and much appreciated by the
players and SLCGA. The buffet and afternoon
tea were delicious, the chocolate fountain
and strawberries went down very well.

The course proved to be quite a challenge in
the morning round, leaving plenty of work for
the afternoon players. Kingswood GC improved
their score by 21 shots putting them in poll
position with 59.50 for most of the afternoon.
Guildford ladies improved by 15 shots putting
them only 3.5 shots behind the leaders

Congratulations to Kingswood, the first host
club to win the event for many years

Littlestone Golf Club 21st - 23rd April

The Surrey Ladies are doing very well in the
English Seniors Championship. Leading
qualifier Roz Adams (Addington Court)
reached the semi finals in Flight One
along with Felicity Christine (Banstead Downs)

Mothers and Daughters Tournament 2010

Royal Mid Surrey Golf Club 17th April 2010

The Annual Mothers and Daughters Tournament
was held at Royal Mid Surrey GC
10 year old Martha Lewis (23) and her mother
Evelyn scored a gross123 nett 99 to win the
Handicap Prize

16 year old Alex Peters and her mother Ann
from Notts. Won the trophy for the third year
running

Surrey Ladies Championship 2010

Wentworth Golf Club East Course

Congratulations to Dana Greenslade (Wentworth)
Who reached the last 8 of the Championship
and won the Winnie Hill trophy for Best
Gross Aggregate score , Bickley Salver for Best
Nett Aggregate score, Rose Bowl for Best
Overall Gross score (68) and Bisset Quaich
for the best Gross Aggregate by an
Intermediate Player (19-25)

Surrey Ladies County Championship 2010

Wentworth Golf Club East Course

Congratulations to Lauren Blease
(Coombe Hill) on winning the 2010 County
Championship. After a magnificent run of
victories through the match play stages
Lauren beat Belinda Pope (Hindhead) 6/5
to secure the Championship Title

was held at Littlestone Golf Club
20th - 23rd April 2010

in the Flight Two Final. Debbie was playing
in her first Seniors Championship
Caroline Marron from Cheshire won Flight One
she beat Carole Weir from Buckinghamshire

ENGLISH SENIOR WOMENS STROKE PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP

Stockport Golf Club 15th -17th June 2010

Roz Adams (Addington Court Ladies) won the
English Senior Womens Stroke Play
with a superb closing round of level par 71
Her final round included an eagle and two birdies
Roz won the trophy for leading qualifier, best
handicap score and also retained the
County Team Trophy for Surrey along with
Felicity Christine

7th Debbie Richards (Burhill) 234

PEARSON TROPHY SURREY CUP FINALS 2010

Surbiton Golf Club 21st June 2010

Well done to Wildwood on their victory.
This is the first year that Wildwood have
entered the Pearson Trophy.

Derry Cup at Woking GC on 26th June
The weather and course were magnificent
some great golf was played with Burhill

EWGA SOUTH REGION WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP

Bush Hill Park Golf Club

The EWGA South Region Womens
Championship was played at Bush Hill Park GC
13th-15th July
Surrey Ladies Hannah Lovelock, Julia Brook ,
Kirsty Rands and Junior Champion Daisy May
Kenny all qualified for the top 16 places

Hannah and Julia reached the semi finals
but unfortunately had to play each other
Julia Brook lost by one down to Tara Watters
from Middlesex.
Well done Julia on reaching the final

PEARSON TROPHY FINALS

Finchley Golf Club

The final of the Pearson trophy was held at
Finchley Golf Club on 28th July. Wildwood
who entered the competition for the first time this
year were representing Surrey
They beat Kent in the morning round and faced
Herts in the afternoon. Wildwood were the
overall winners

Congratulations to Wildwood on a tremendous
victory.

EWGA SOUTH REGION FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIP

Hindhead Golf Club

The second South Region Foursomes
Championship was held at Hindhead GC
on 29th July. The event this year was Stableford
competition. There was a full field for the event with
92 ladies playing on the day. The weather
conditions were perfect for golf and a few
excellent scores came in at the end of the day.

Nicola Raper & Jan Gilkes (Pyrford) beat
Nicola Taylor (Walton Heath) & Niamh O'Connor
(Worplesdon) on count back to win the Scratch
Salvers with 29 Stableford points and a gross 79.
The Stableford competition was won by
Eleanor Rhodes & Viv Harrison (Bletchingley)
with 37 points, Liz Owsley & Caroline Jones
(The Army) came second on count back
Sarah Mulhall & Tammy Andrews (Botley Park)
came third with 36 points.

Thank you to Hindhead GC for hosting the event
The players really enjoyed the course and the
delicious lunch afterwards
