Mrs Cameron from Wimbledon Golf Club, Mrs Hollings of Woking Golf Club, and Miss M.E.Phillips founded the Surrey Ladies county Golf Association in 1900, at a meeting in London's Eaton Square. The SLCGA was initially named Surrey Ladies County Golf Club. Miss Issette Pearson was appointed President and Miss Amy Pascoe was elected County Captain. Issette Pearson decreed that the objective of Surrey ladies County Golf Club was to play golf against counties that had already founded or were in the process of founding their own clubs.
It was not until 1929 that the name was changed to Surrey Ladies County Golf Association. a badge was adopted depicting the Surrey 'Coat of Arms'. This remained the official logo until 1955, when the badge was changed into the one that is still in use today.
Surrey Ladies currently has 91 affiliated clubs and circa 8,500 members. With the exception of Yorkshire, no other county comes close to matching Surrey's proud record of winning 23 County Championships, boasting the British Ladies Amateur Champion 11 times and being home to the English Ladies Amateur Champion 15 times, also providing five Curtis Cup Captains and ten Curtis Cup players,
