The girls had a great win against Kent in the last round of matches at Junior County Match Week. The Kent team were very experienced, with 4 of their team having played in the regional county match week in June. But everyone in the Surrey team was on great form, with just two matches being lost and these very late on in the round. Star of the match must be Matilde Santilli, who was 3 down after 7 due to her opponent holing some enormous putts early on. By the 10th hole, she was level and went on to win within the distance. The match score was 5-2, which meant that over the 4 matches, the Surrey game score was 24-4 - a credit to them and Junior Organiser Karen Francis
So Surrey emerged as the unbeaten winners of the tournament, with Kent as runners-up. Middlesex won the Stableford Cup by a distance, reduced to 9 holes due to the adverse weather on Monday.
Congratulations to Ellie Monk, team captain and unbeaten during the week, and all the players.
