In a very exciting final Leatherhead (Surrey) beat Ealing (Middlesex) by 4-2 with one match called in to win The Pearson Trophy at Batchworth Park Golf Club in Herts.
In the morning Leatherhead had beaten Mid Kent (Kent) 4-1 with two matches called in and Ealing beat (Moor Park).
It was a very hot day and all the players sheltered under umbrellas and made full use of the iced wet towels and drinks which were provided on the course. The wind got up in the afternoon drying out the course further and the greens speeded up but Leatherhead kept their nerve and with two good wins early on managed to clinch the match with the sixth game - Sue Choularton the captain holing the winning putt which was very appropriate.
A full report will be on the Pearson page of the Surrey website.
