(Burhill) vs Fiona Neden & Anne Haylock
(Dulwich and Sydenham). Another very close
match with Fiona and Anne keeping the
pair from Burhill in their sights until the 17th hole

(Coombe Hill) vs Chris and Sue Monger (West
Surrey). A very tight match which ended on the
19th hole. Chris Monger holed a long put to
seal the victory for West Surrey

Lauren Blease represented her University in the
32nd Pat Bradley Invitational. Lauren shot 5 under
par on the first day and came 8th overall
She was joint top scorer for her University
and the top scoring English player 3 shots ahead
of Andrea Downer

The final of the inaugural Inter Club Champions
Gold Medal was played at West Surrey GC
on 24th October 2009. Julia Brook (Croham Hurst)
played the very experienced Sally Peters
with Julia claiming victory on the 16th hole
Well done Julia a fitting end to a very successful
year
Thank you to West Surrey for allowing the finals
to held, all the players appreciated the course
but the not the weather, which unfortunately was
rather wet and windy

was played at Cuddington Golf Club on
18th October. Lesley Nickolds (Clandon Regis)
vs Margaret Fraser (RAC). Lesley got off to a
flying start, but Margaret pegged her back
Lesley won on the 18th hole
Effingham Golf Club
The final of the inaugural Centenary Plate was
was played at Effingham GC on 11th October
Bramley versus West Byfleet
Although rain threatened the weather was not too
bad. The first match was all square which left
Joan Kent and Anne Clark (Bramley) having to go
down the 19th hole. At the time they did not
realise that the other match results came in at
two wins each. Eventually with the light fading at
an alarming rate. Joan Kent won on the 21st hole
Well done to West Byfleet on their win and thank
you to SLCGA Vice President Anne Cotton for
donating such a magnificent trophy for the event

Effingham Golf Club
The final of the Centenary Bowl was played on
11th October at Effingham GC. It was a rematch
of last years final with Foxhills playing last year's
winners Hankley Common. Two of the matches
went to the 18th hole and Sue Hill went down the
19th hole with Rita Vienhues (Foxhills)
In the end Foxhills were the worthy winners
3 1/2 to 1 1/2
All the matches were played in good spirit and
some great golf was played on the day
Well done to Foxhills and a special thank you
to Effingham Golf Club, for allowing us to hold the
finals. The competitors really appreciated playing
on such a good golf course

Betchworth Park Golf Club
The final of the Hicks Trophy was played at
Betchworth Park Golf Club on Saturday 17th
October. Sunningdale vs Worplesdon who were
2008 winners. The matches were very close
and the score went to 2 games each
after being 3 down Fiona Johnston
got the match back to all square on the 18th hole
Nathalie played a magnificent up and down from
a greenside bunker on the 19th hole to seal the
victory for Sunningdale
Congratulations to Sunningdale their
second win in 2 years
A special thank you to Betchworth Park for
allowing us to hold the finals. The course was
in good condition and the greens were excellent

Johnnie Imes Invitational Tournament - USA
Nine English students played in the Johnnie Imes
Invitational. Hannah Lovelock came in the top ten
Kirsty Rands and Lauren Blease also played

Ellis is currently Junior Champion and at
18 years old the youngest winner of the

Congratulations to Roz Adam(Addington Court)
who was runner up to Vicki Thomas
Both ladies had a final round of 82 but Vicki
won by 3 shots overall with 232. Felicity Coulter
shot a final round of 78 and elevated to 3rd place

Betchworth Park Golf Club
The Druce Trophy has been played so
many times in the rain. This year was the
other extreme with temperatures reaching
32 Degrees. Thankfully no one fainted in the heat
The day was finally won by Worplesdon
The first time since 1956, they beat Coombe Hill
by .25 of a point. Pyrford and RAC shared third
place and were one shot behind with 62.25
The day was a great success and enjoyed by all

The summer Foursomes was held at Tyrrells
Wood Golf Club on Tuesday 28th July
This is the first year that both the Molly Gourlay
and Pam Barton trophies, were played for on the
same day
The Winners of the Molly Gourlay Trophy were the
Mother and Daughter duo of Carol and Lauren
Blease (Coombe Hill) with 50 points.
The Pam Barton Trophy was won by Elizabeth Alexander and Katherine Kreuter (RAC Club)
with 54 points
