SLCGA Spring Matchplay Division A Final 2008

West Surrey Golf Club

The final of the Spring Matchplay final was
played at West Surrey Golf Club on
Friday 24th October 2008
Cathy Dawson (West Byfleet) beat
Sandie Klimcke (Clandon Regis) 3&2

The standard of golf was very high which
made the match very exciting to watch
Congratulations to Cathy and a special thank you
to Libby Hagdrup who has taken all the
photographs of the finalists and also to whoever
made it possible for none of the finals to be played
in bad weather conditions

SLCGA Centenrary Foursomes Final 2008

Tandridge Golf Club

The final of the Centenary Foursomes
was played on Sunday 19th October 2008
at Tandridge Golf Club

Betchworth Park Golf Club

The final of the Inter Club Scratch Foursomes
was played on Saturday 18th October 2008 at
Betchworth Park Golf Club
Vivien Saunders and Felicity Coulter
(Banstead Downs) beat Sally Peters
and Diane Turner (Guildford Ladies)

A very exciting match
Banstead Downs stood on the 16th tee 3 down
but Vivien and Felicity battled on to eventually
win, in fading light, on the 20th hole

The Hampshire Rose with scores of 75 & 67
Ellis was 7 under on the back 9 and scored
5 birdies and an eagle

Kirsty Rands was 3rd with 72 & 75 she is now
on her way to Royal Troon to compete in the
Helen Holm Scottish Open. Roz Adams shot a 73 in the afternoon round

Lauren Blease had 2 rounds in the 70's but
missed out on a prize

DRUCE TROPHY 2008

Effingham Golf Club - 26th June 2008

It is so unique to have a competition
where 60 different Surrey golf clubs play in
a competition on the same day

The weather was sunny with a light breeze
the course looked fantastic and the greens
were challenging in preparation for the Open
Qualifier on Wednesday 2nd July

A big thank to the Lady Captain, staff and
volunteers at Effingham who worked so
hard to help make the day a success

Sunday 17th February, a beautiful sunny day. The
First Team took on the Junior Elite Squad.
The golf was to a very high standard and there
were some very tight matches

Elizabeth Price Fisher

SLCGA Vice President
Elizabeth Price Fisher, sadly, passed away on
Friday 23rd May 2008
Her funeral will be on 2nd June 2008

Elizabeth Price Fisher played in the Curtis Cup
1950,1951,1954,1956,1958 & 1960
She was British Amateur Champion 1959
Surrey Champion for seven consecutive years
from 1954

She was SLCGA Captain in 1958
SLCGA President 1971 to 1973
Appointed as an SLCGA Vice President in 2007
